As we study the process of regeneration (born-again) in Christ, today will focus on the fourth step, being baptized in water
John 3:5
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.
Acts 2: 38
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Two main questions:
1. Where does Baptism fit into salvation ?
2. What is God doing for a believer when they are baptized ?
Baptism brings what you are already in (repentance & faith) to a climax .
Two Meanings:
1. Remission of Sin: Cleansing (1 Peter 3:20-21)
2. Union with Christ: Burial (Colossians 2:11-12)
Why was it done?
Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.
John 3:5 You must be born of water and of Spirit.
Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins.
Acts 22:16 Get up ! Be baptized , and wash your sins away .
1 Peter 3:21 Baptism now saves you. It is more than just washing your body. It means turning to God with a clear conscience
Baptism as a means of Grace
Implications of Baptism
1. Deliverance

3. Initiation
